EDIT: solved it. didn’t realize whether “ValueAtTime” would actually track the independent timelines of other comps, if referring to elements in those comps

I’m trying to use the motion of some elements in a comp (tracking their Y value, specifically), as an interpolation curve for elements in another comp.

For example: layer A inside comp A is moving around, in the span from 0 to 1 seconds.

I’d like to reference the Y position of layer A, normalize it to a range from 0->1, and use it’s movement from 0 to 1 seconds in “comp A time”, as a reference for something in comp B, which could happening at any arbitrary point in “comp B time”.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks, for any suggestions
