Is there a way to network two computers (MacBook Pros) running FCP 7 on each,
so that the project timeline of a project running in one computer is available to each person on both computers in distant locations?
    (No cable connections here).
Is it done thru Mail Video Chat? Thru some sort of FTP connections to a third party server?
    Thanks much,

That is what is being dubbed “editing in the cloud,” and is something AVID is working on. Other than that, which is a future idea, there is no way for this to happen. In fact, in the FCP universe, you can’t have two computers access the exact same project file even if they are on a local network. Shared project files doesn’t happen in FCP land. You have workarounds for that, but that is definately an Avid thing.

My suggestion would be to get two hard drives that are exact clones of each other in terms of media, file structure and even name. Each of you have one. Then make a master project file that you then make your own sequences in, and share those sequences via exporting and importing XML files.
