Network switch or router?
Hello,
I was hoping to get some advice about switches and routers. We have five Macs in our office that we’d like to create a network for. The purpose of the network is to distribute media from one central computer to the others. The media will already be digitized and this is not a situation in which the various computers will be accessing media simultaneously, as in a server. In this situation I’m wondering if a switch or a router makes more sense and what might the optimal brand and/or model of either be for transferring media files. Examples of files we need to transfer are DV, ProRes, HDV 1080i60.
