I keep reading articles about shared dtorage and I was wondering if there is a way that I can make 3 different machines running Express DV use the same set of drives to share projects and clips. This way, I can edit my project no matter which machine I am working on.

yes – it’s called EditShare, unless you want a Terrablocks by Facilis – oops – AVID makes Unity and LanShare, but I bet you can’t afford it.

Technically you can use any network drive by “unlocking” it via the console.
    Type in “alldrives 1”
I only tested this on PC, your mileage may vary.

Pay attention that the Avid application assumes to be the only one accessing project an media data, so take care not to open / save the same project at the same time, so you’re not risking to overwrite changes from different machines.

O.K., that works great. Luckily with DV, the files aren’t too big so it transfers fine over the network. However, is there a way that I can get the other avids on the network to see a project that I made on my computer?
