I’m trying network rendering for the first time. I have everything setup to do a simple render. The network render service is running on both PCs and there are no errors. When I go to render the project on Computer A, it copies a veg file to the “shared folder”. When I look at the progress, the status shows “queue” but it doesn’t do anything. I read the manual on this topic and it offered no help. How do I start the rendering? Do I need to do anything to kick it off other than select the network render option when saving? I was able to render the file manually on the “renderer” computer and it found all of the files and rendered the projects. This doesn’t seem the way that this should work. Any insights are appreciated.

    Thanks for your help.

Make sure that EVERY asset is on a shared drive or directory and that the file mappings on both computers are seeing them.

Thanks Gary but I still can’t get it to work. I’ve mapped every location that has project files in it. Both computers see the files, but the Rendering service says the job is in queue but never kick it off. The .veg file that was copied to the rendering PC works. It pulls all pictures, video and music from the Host PC and I can render the project on the rendering PC and it finds all the files. Something is not allowing the rendering to start. The mappings work. I don’t know what to do at this point. Any other thoughts?

make sure your computers has a primary ( same) DNS suffix & the workgroup has same name ..

right click MY COMPUTER – properties , network ID , Properties , MORE,
    Primary DNS suffix =
