Network Backup Solution – Projects / Docs
Looking for a solution to backup a network of 8 Macs,
running anything from 10.6.8 to 10.9.
The data is mostly project files / images / documents – no footage.I thought of getting a RAID or a large drive and backing up on Ethernet.
We might purchase Tolis BRU for archiving our footage. Any other options ?
Is Retrospect still a player ?Thanks !

Is BRU Server supposed to work side-by-side with PE,
or I can run 2 different backups just on BRU Server:
1 – on Tapes, for footage / media
2 – on a drive – for smaller files, office assets etc. -
Yes you can run both on one machine and Both :). Unlike BRU PE (which is designed to e hands-on, interactive), BRU Server is a much more capable solution. You could be running backups to tape and also run multiple machine backups to disk (we call it staging).
You can also export catalogs from BRU Server for use in BRU PE.
