Something I came accross in AE, but never in Premiere…

Working on a (boring) presention, video + slides. I’m doing a simple dissolve between slides and video at client request.

I had to add a template on top and shrink the slides to compensate for the safety margin. It is basically a header and footer, with alpha channel in the middle for the slides.

So I have to nest these 2 because of the usual blending issue arising when dissolving 2 separate layers at the same time. (No easy way to Photoshop merge the template here for 200 slides).

My question concerns the workflow for those of you who have a done a lot of these (I feel sorry for you ;). Should I just work without transitions until the end, and then put the slide + template tracks into a new sequence, and then apply the transitions, or it there a better way ?

I always edit as though I don’t need to worry about the safty margin. Then nest that sequence and crop it. Or scale it down.
