    Hi,

Let’s say a person cuts a 10″ clip out of an hour-long nested sequence and places that clip onto a another timeline.

The, he wants to open that 10″ nested sequence, and when opened, he wants to reveal ONLY those 10″ of footage [ie, and not the entire hour-long sequence that was nested].

    Is that possible?
    And if so, how?

    I hope this makes sense.

    Thanks in advance,

    Wayne

You need to make a second nest of that chunk you cut out.

    Walter,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

I tried your suggestion – but when I open the re-nested sequence, it shows me the 10″ piece I had nested previously.

What I’m trying to do is see the SOURCE material from the originally nested sequence, but ONLY that 10″ section I had cut out.

I fear I may not be communicating as effectively as need to, but I hope this makes sense.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

Open the new nest, copy the 10 minutes you want. Paste into a new nest. Edit the new nest into your sequence or wherever you want.

A nest is just like a clip. Just because you cut it up or out doesn’t make the rest of the clip/nest disappear. If you want a nest of just the 10 minues, you have to create a new nest of the 10 minutes.

Thanks all for the reply — from what I’m hearing, it’s not possible to do what I need.

    Thanks,

    Wayne
