Nesting Problems with Alpha Channels
Hello Everyone!
First and foremost I would like to say thank you to all of you for your quick responses to my previous question. It’s quite a relief that there are fellow editors out there that are complete insomniacs like myself!
Without further ado, I have yet another question relating to Travel Matte Luma in regards to nesting footage. As in my previous question, I am still working with the same stock Alpha footage that looks like this:

In this issue, I have duplicated the same footage and shrunk it down to create an interesting lower third which looks like this thus far:

Afterwards, I placed both clips on V2 and V3 and then created a new color and eye dropped off of the white on of the clips so the solid color matched the same color as the white on the adjacent clips and placed it on V1 so then it looked like this:

Afterwards I nested the 3 layers together and pasted the new nested sequence into a test sequence on V2 and set the composite mode to Travel Matte Luma and my original color footage to replace the white in the nested footage on V1 and set the travel matte to alpha. The end result is still the same (still no color shining through):

Jeremy,
Again, you need to inverse the order. The mask have to go always underneath.
Put the nested sequence in V1.
Set the footage in V2 and in Travel Matte Luma mode.
