  • Nesting objects causes problem with replicators?

    Hi all,
In a panic on this project.

The goal is to take an image of a book cover, turn that into a book that has thickness/pages, then make a stack of the thick books. There will be a camera flying past the stack so the thickness of the books is important.

So I first turned the cover into a book by replicating the cover into a line shape and tweaking until the thickness is good. The book looks great using a replicator. I made this into a group called ThickBook.

Now I wanted to add a replicator to the thickbook group in order to see a stack of the thick books.
The problem is, adding the replicator to the thickbook group causes the first replicator to go dead. I only see a stack of single-layered covers.

I tried to clone the individual replicated book, then apply the stack replicator to the clone, but the same thing happens with the clone, the books lose their thickness.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Matt

Replicator a replicated object in 3D space will force it to become rasterized. You’ll need to just make as many copies as you need by duplicating. Motion’s not the best app for this sort of thing.
