I have six tracks of audio with sound effects, two tracks of music, total of 8. Can you nest all these audio tracks in some way to end up with a 2 track comp? I tried nesting the audio, clicked the audio mixdown selection and still ended up with 8 tracks of sequenced sound.

Select the audio tracks and use Sequence>Nest Selected Items. You could also export the the audio and reimport it.

    All the best,

If you are intending to output and OMF for audio post then don’t nest.

I never do audio in FCP and I only online & sound post projects, but if you are not going to sound post then I thought FCP could do a mixdown to a stereo aif file without first nesting.

Might have to read the manual on that one.
