no it won’t be copied to your project folder. it will be copied to a directory you specify.
and my god, of course it will be copied and you cannot delete the copy. you must consider nested projects as a media file as they work the same way.
i think you yourself make a mess. you have to define what you mean by your “project folder”. which do you mean? original or the copy? when you create a project for nesting you have to save it somewhere. and in “save with media” process it will be all copied, with nested projects which actually are media files and with media files belonging to those nested projects. so you have everything copied in one folder of your choice and don’t touch it. you can erase everything else including your system files. just don’t touch the copied folder and your project will be safe. and my god, i don’t wanna be rude, questions are good in general but it takes only a minute to create any project and nest it to another test project, and save it with copy media option, so you have all that nested, tested and just learned the best possible way – by your own experience.

Making a mess?
My question is simple:

1-I have a main project.

2-It has a nested project.

3-Now that the whole project is finished, when I click on SAVE AS(copy media with project) of my MAIN project, will that nested project be copied to my MAIN project folder and everything(main and nested project) will be in the same folder or not, nested project is still a separate project and its media won’t be copied to main project folder?

I won’t do it because my project has a gazillion media and I don’t wanna mess anything.
I’d have to duplicate both main project and nested project then do it.
That’s why we have forums, to get answers before making something wrong.

I understand your question. The answer is no. Your target folder gets a copy of the nested veg file, not the media that the nested file points to. Vegas treats the nested event exactly as any other event.

Yours, and JR’s responses indicate that we could very quickly get into a real pickle about this.. So, maybe there’s a need for the “Nest” to have a similar procedure too. This would ensure future-proofing.

That’s correct. This is usually done as a final “archive” step to move a project to an archive drive with just the video that is needed.

That’s what Ultimate S Pro does. It goes to each nested project and copies it with the media because Vegas does not do this. As Steve said, it only copied the VEG file and not the media that it needed.

So the answer to the question:

Is NO. Everything will NOT be in the same folder. The main project media and the veg file from the nested project will be in the same folder but the media from the nested project will not be there.
