nested sequence/banding.. still
why do i get banding and image degradation when a nested sequence is scaled down (viewed on a monitor)? all sequence settings (dv pal) match the settings of the clips in every way. a kona 3 is feeding the monitor via it’s component outputs.

You’re getting banding and quality issues for two reasons:
1. You’ve captured into an 8 bit format (DV)
Capturing in 10 bit formats makes a lot of banding issues go away.2. You then made it worse by scaling it. However if you check on the “Best” quality in the Motion Filtering settings of the Sequence settings’ Processing tab, you might get a better looking result.

As odd as it seems, I have found you get better quality if its set for Fast.
Makes no sense at all.
