nested sequence crash in source monitor on drag in out point
Hi,
I’m editing HDV on a Dell Latitude D820, Core 2, T7200 @2GHz and 2 GB Ram. XP with service pack 3.
My project is on an external 1 Tb harddrive connected with usb.
Not an optimum system I know.
My problem is this: I shot some footage with low quality sound. I cut several clips together without noticing that the sound was out of sync. Anyway – a huge sound mess. I want to extract the sound, edit externally and then re unite the audio and video and re cut the clip. This seems to be a huge problem. First of all this is far too much trouble to do in in Sounthbooth so I edit in a more capable editor. When I bring it back in I am not able to treat the audio and video as a clip or a subclip.
Following a suggestion I read on the forum here I tried to put it into a nested sequence and edit that. Using timecode numbers from an edl export I moved the cursor to in and out points. This worked for the most part even though the timecode was oddly off.
When I try to drag the in and out points however, Premiere crashes. Is there a workaround for this? I was hoping that the nested sequence thing was going to work and now this.
[..\..\Src\RenderFrameRequest.cpp-425]
Is it because the preview file doesn’t work for the nested sequence?
Any help very much appreciated.
I felt this didn’t quite fit with any other posts so started this one.
Cheers!
Ethan
