So I did the motion track/untrack thing that Andrew Kramer demonstrates in his demon face tutorial:

    https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html?id=11

It has been working fine all week as I’ve done test renders and fine-tuned the shots. Now that I did (what I thought) was my final render, it doesn’t work. The nested comp is sitting still and the footage is moving all over the place. I tried re-doing the pickwhipping with no success. The Anchor Point, Position, and Rotation info just isn’t changing as I step through the shot. I haven’t done anything to either shot, other than add an adjustment layer above everything to do some final color corrections. This has happened to two separate shots in the same composition.

I’m going to start over and try to re-track the shots and see what happens, but I don’t have the time to completely re-do the shots. If I do any kind of re-do, I have to use some of my already-roto’d layers. What can I look at as far as trouble shooting?

If I can’t get this fixed, the whole point of the video is lost and it becomes worthless for tomorrow night.

Update: when I try it with the same footage in a completely new composition, it works properly. So I assume it’s my existing comp that is causing problems.

I can also copy my effects layers into the new comp and parent ’em, and they work fine, so I guess I have a solution to my problem for tonight, but I’d still like to know why things went wonky in the first place…
