Negitive handles?
I will try this as soon as the computer is free, but I’m wondering if it is possible to set my preferences to support NEGATIVE handles when capturing?
I shoot footage with a FS3 Firestore attached to my camera to record DV25 files of my footage for offlining. After importing these files into Final Cut I want to go back and capture from the original tapes as ProRes. I’m wondering if I can use the time code information from the Firestore clips as the reference to capture from the tapes. Since the timecode values from the clips are exact and I would need to preroll back before the first frame of the clip, I would have to deal with a timecode break and thus the preroll would be messed up. The footage was shot TOD but with plenty of heads and tails on the clips. If I can set in a negative handle value, it will cue up AFTER the in point of the clip and capture from there without having to roll over the break in code.
Anyone ever try this?Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.–Ferris Bueller
