    Hi,

I’m trying to set up a particle stream that starts before the actual scene animation, so that the particles are visible form the first frame of the animation. I thought this could be achieved by putting in a negative value in the start emission field, but nothing happens. My question concerns both the standard and Thinking particle systems.

    thanks in advance,

    Søren

With regular particles you can set negative number for Start Emission but it won’t do anything unless the negative frames actually exist in your Timeline. TP generators don’t allow you to set start times in the interface at all, they are pure keyframed so once again the negative timeline must exist to allow you to lay a keyframe at your desired start point.

Thanks Brian, I knew it had to be something very basic.
