  • Need to take out wind.

Posted by Donald Gibson on November 12, 2012 at 4:48 pm

I shoot my granddaughter wedding on the beach. I used a mike phone for the preacher. The sound is fine except that Mother Nature step in and there is a lot of wind in the background.
Is there a way to separate the two? I am using Vegas Pro 8. I know it may well be too late, if so, so be it. If not please help me. I need to cut the wind and not the preacher.
    Thanks
    Don

Thanks Graham but I am trying to learn this stuff myself. Would rather do it myself if I could.

Well, this is what is on offer:

    1 – Give me a section.

2 – If you WERE impressed I’d know what to tell you!

    Simples!

I’m wanting you to learn too.

    Grazie

That can be done donald, but not with Vegas alone, third part
plugins would have to be called in for that, like Sony Noise
    Reducion
or Izotope. What i use regular on issues like that is
Izotope RX with near perfect results.

I’ll stick my beak in here… have a look at the free program Audacity… it isn’t as good as Izotope and the like, but it might achieve something, and it is free.

Windows 7 Pro64, 16GB RAM, SSD boot drive, GTX 570 Graphics, Vegas Pro 11 and VP10 just in case

    Donald, you’re very welcome.

Go to the iZo website and see if you can chase down a “Windy” sample-tute to view.

    Izo? Pure VooDoo!

Izotope is expensive, but if you are in this for the long haul,
    its the way to go.
