    Hello!

I ordered some artwork from a friend and the software he uses, only exports in either SWF or FXG.

Neither of these are opening correctly in Illustrator.

I understand SWF is a Flash file extension, but Creative Cloud no longer has Flash, it’s dead right?
So how do I convert to AI, SVG or something?

    HELP.

I’ve figured it out, so to help others, here’s what I did:

    Installed Animate CC
    Created a new project
    Imported SWF into stage
    Clicked each layer, copy
    Paste inside Illustrator
    Voila

It’s annoying having to reposition them to recreate the original drawing but hey.

    Update.

Illustrator sees the layers as TIFFs if I do it this way, so it’s rasterizing the images… which defeats the purpose of using vectors.

    GAH. HELP

Ok this thread is funny, it’s just me talking to myself but…

    Sorted.

Just had to actually “Publish” from Animate. Picked SVG format.
