    My SVP10 is rock solid except for one classic (for me) issue: It just hates WAV files, period. It loads them, but they’re always just completely wacked out and unusable. They’re fine playing them within Windows, but Vegas is the problem.

    AIFs work great. What’s a good converter so that I can make usable files out of WAVs?

    By the way, I’m too nervous to move to SVP11 or 12 yet if that might solve the issue.

    Thats an odd problem

    Try Quicktime Pro, I would guess that would work
    or
    Try googling ‘convert wave file to aiff’ and you will get all kinds of solutions

    No problem Kelly, from you have a good 64bit machine
    you are quite ok to make your move to Vegas 12 right now.
    Strange indeed that you are having WAV issue inside of Vegas 10.
    Did you check your Track buffering settings etc in Preferences
    under the Audio Device tab?

    You have a serious problem. WAV is the native format for uncompressed audio in Windows. Vegas Pro loves WAV files and it is highly recommended that you always use WAV files. If they don’t work on your PC then you need to figure out why, or perhaps it’s time to reformat and start over. Something you installed is causing Vegas to not accept wave files. You need to find out what that is an uninstall it. One way to do this is to use GSpot which has the ability to show you the filter chain that is being used:

    This will show you what is processing the WAV file. This is what it says on my PC:
    Render OK. The following combination of filters was used:
    (Src)-->>--(A)-->[Wave Parser ]>--(B)-->[Default DirectSound Device ]

    See what yours says.
