I’ve been slowly going through Tony Alley’s book (almost done!) and the Cinema 9/9.1 Handbook and I think I’m learning what I have to do to create the backgrounds I need for my projects. What confuses me though is all the measurements is in meters. The backgrounds stills I need to create are 720 x 540 using extruded and textured rectangles. I don’t understand what size rectangle in meters to use in C4d so that it will fill the 720 x 540 screen when I render. Do I have to do the math or is there a simpler way?

There is no connection between the rendering resolution and the size of objects.
Any object no matter how big or small can fill the view completely depending on your camera settings.
Just make sure that the objects fill the render save area and you are fine.
    Cheers

Thank you, I think I understand now.
