Need to change Luma/Video levels
Hello,
I’m pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to do the following on my DecklinkHD system using Premier Pro.
I want to take a 100% color bar pattern (NTSC/PAL/720/1080,etc) and attenuate the overall video level ranging anywhere from 100 to 0%/IRE (700 to 0mV).
Right now I have a 10second video clip with color bars covering the lower 1/4 of the screen and assorted video clips playing in the rest of the screen.
I want to start with this sequence and alter it so the video starts out at 100%/IRE @ 0s, fades to 50%/IRE @ 5s and continues fading to 0%/IRE @ 10s.
Or I may want to do the reverse or have the video fade from 90% to 60%, or 40% to 80% over the 10 second time.
At first I thought I could do this using the opacity control using keyframes and it does seem to work until I render the preview. After I render the preview my video output shows no change even though I can see the opacity level changing as the video plays back in the timeline.
And I’ve tried nearly every effect that would make sense to use for this application but they dont yield enough control. The closest thing I could find for my use is the “Broadcast Colors” effect but that only allows me an IRE range of 90 to 120 and I dont want to go over 100.
Any hints or tips on how I could do this? Is there some other effects package I need to get?
Thanks,
Jason
