  • Need to brighten dark video in Final Cut

I have some video clips shot in a very dark room and the subjects are not alway close to the camera light yielding dark background and dark subjects. Is there any way to get the video brighter without adding a lot of noise….i have tried the brightness/contrast controls on Final Cut but can’t really get it bright enough without a lot of noise….thanks….

Thus the danger of filming in low light. If your subjects are dark…there is very little detail..it’s hiding in the shadows. TO bring it out, you also bring out the noise that is also hidden by the shadows. The FCP plugins might bring out the grain more than say COLOR would…but it is still there.

    Light better next time.

What other filters might I want to try in FCP to brighten my own dark footage? I’ve been playing with Brightness and Color Correction 3-way.
