Need suggestions on onset/nearset grading.
Need to do onset/nearset grading for the next feature.
So I’m thinking about the equipments I should select.
First, for the grading station, 2K resolution, prores4444 and arriraw. Seems the new Macbook Pro is powerful enough for one or two secondary layers, is that true? Or maybe a powerful Dell Alienware book?
Second, I would like to provide projection preview nearset, but doesn’t want to use the projector for grading, so is the macbook screen good enough?(I think precise on greyscale gamma means good enough, slight difference on color wise is accepted for onset/nearset) Or I need to use a separate monitor?
That’s as far as I can think about right now. Anybody got more detailed information on onset/nearset grading strategy will be very thankful!
