  • need square pixel render format for Quicktime PRO

as per my previous below.. I’m trying to render out my video into a format that is streamlined for internet and Youtube…

I have yet to figure out where H264 is in Vegas renders.. i have followed the posts.. and i get an MP4 file and youtube does not play it.

avi works ( but looks like %$it ).. QT mov H264 looks best so far.

So… Help me.. should i render my video out in a screen size that best matches youtube format for SD of 425 X 344? or some ratio close to it..

how about the avi audio and video format.. when i play with AVI renders.. i often loose Audio in quicktime.. only video is picked up.

    Whats with that???

so.. from all of the reading it seems like i want square pixels.. progressive scann uncompressed…

How can i get that format into Quicktime Pro without having my audio disappear.. Video looks awsome like that.. but some audio would be nice..

I read DSE’s tutorial but that was more geared to screen size and frame rates.. i read other posts about mainconcepts AAC render ( or what ever it is) and the IPOD export.. but that does not play in youtube.. it uploads.. i see a screen capture preview.. but in length the video is 00.00… and nothing plays.. ive tried that numerous times with different renders out of vegas..

Any experience on: square pixels.. progressive scan uncompressed AVI that will export to QTpro and include my audio..

it must have something to do with audio settings in vegas render but i have not figured it out yet??

no one responded yesterday.. maybe i was not being clear in my problem.. ( or people thought i had not bothered to search for a solution first)… i spent most of yesterday ( or wasted)… reading different things and trying them out.. most of which.. never imported audio into Quicktime.. original file… Audio is there.. i can play it in windows media player and vegas time line.. just disapperas when i open it in QT…

i searched DSE’s site and noting specific to this problem either.. just the youtube HD solutions and good info on frame size and Frame Rate.. which i will use..

    Thanks
    Wayne

    MainConcept .mp4 – custom – video – custom size – 1280/720 –
    PAL or NTSC – progressive – 1.0000
    CBR 10mbps
    Check audio, include audio

    Then upload to Youtube.

    i’m talking about SD here…

I’ll go try it again but I have spent a solid day screwing around with the vegas MP4 renders and youtube throws them up..

is the file going to be a MP4 file???

Thanks for the input.. I’ll go by the letter.. even the 1280 just for kicks..

You can use 1280 x 720 & source adjust frame size.

    .mp4 is best.

As odd magne said, sending youtube a 1280×720 video is good, even if the sides are black, because then youtube will allow a “watch in HD” feature to let those viewing it see the best possible quality. I don’t know why youtube is giving you a hard time because I’ve had good luck with mp4’s, but you also might want to try Windows Media Video. There’s a template for 720p at 30fps with square pixels that goes right into youtube just fine.

Vegas should be able to do this all in one step. You shouldn’t need to export avi’s then have quicktime recompress it all.
