  • Need Small Video File For Website

Hello All, Here’ my dilema. I have a Vegas 7 file that is 3 minutes long. It SD video at 4:3. I need to load it onto a customers website, but they only have about 50mb of storage left for upload. The website company is for sports teams and is really limited in upload space and what you can do on it. The website says it will take any of the following formats: AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MPG, MPE, MP4, ASF, ASX, DAT, RM, RMVB, 3GP, 3GP2, 3GPP, DV, QT, DAT (VCD), and VOB (DVD). Using my Vegas file what is the best way to render it to keep file size down (say 45mb max) but keep some quality? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dave P.

Mp4 at approx 1.6Kpbs assuming audio is 48k stereo, you could make it mono 32 and save some bandwidth, maybe get up to 2Kbps

Hi Douglas, Im kind of new at this so bear with me. Should I use Mainconcept mp4 or Sony mp4? When I go to either of those I do not see where I can change to the settings you have suggested. I’m looking under the custom tab under video & audio & I’m not sure what to change.

    Thanks

    should help?
Ignore the template description, but rather work with the values I’ve inserted.
    Should work fine for you.

Douglas, thanks a million for taking the time to make it so I couldn’t make the settings wrong! Your screenshot is awesome. I made a file last night with the standard settings and I will make one this morining with your suggested settings & compare. The whole “bandwidth” thing is new to me. I guess I need to start learning more about it. Do you have any sugested reads on where I can learn more about setting up video files for the internet? Have a great day & thanks again.

    Thanks
