Your comment is related to discs authored for replication (should be playable on every player). OK, but my suggestion is not against DVD spec. I just tried to outline a way & I just assumed the disc is for a special presentation purpose! Shure, this has never been mentioned so my suggestion may will not match the client’s needs by 100% but the result would be close to what the threada starter wants.
He can take the choice depending on the client’s needs!
If the disc should work on every available player by start via PLAY button, OK, that is simply not possible!
If it should work at least on selected players, OK you can find some which would do that so!

I have authored a very similar disc with a the same simple navigation mode for a museum.
The client’s demand was to start the program by hitting the PLAY button on players front panel.
The realization was as simple as described here in thread!
We just have tested many players on the market to take care of it will work!

Not every disc is for mass replication.
