  Need pointers on H.264 edit/re-encode

  Due to some issues with our archive storage provider (Grrr…), I have no access to the Premiere project file(s) for an H.264 mp4 I need to edit. It just involves inserting some title slates in Premiere. But exporting the edited file to the same (internal company required) specs as the original predictably degrades the quality of the original title overlays. The specs of the original are as follows:
  MainConcept H.264/mp4
  1024×576
  29.97 fps
  Field Order: Progressive
  Profile: Main
  Level: 4.2
  Bitrate Encoding: CBR, 3 Mbps
  Any pointers to help minimize this would be much appreciated! Thanks.
