The new Peak LE 5 ($59 upgrade from Peak Express V2, 3, or 4) allows you to change pitch without affecting duration or vice versa. It also has a number of special effects plugins.

    See details at https://www.bias-inc.com/special/f186-peakExAndSoapPro/

have a look in your FCP audio filters.

in the AU filters there is one called “Pitch”

it’s there in FCP5, and it may be there in HD, too.

    cheers,

If you’re running FCP 5 Studio, check out Soundtrack. It has a number of filters that can radically change a voice track. You might already have what you need.

AUDACITY works great! Just have a few extra steps to convert the final file to an Aif for FCP. No real big deal considering the price.

    Thanks again for the tip.
