Need Motorcycle Shooting Suggestions
I took up motorcycles this past year (went through 4 to settle on a Piaggio MP3 500) and am about to do several trips. I’d like to do some shots from the bike but am not sure how best to mount it. I have some suction cup mounts and tried those but the vibration was too bad. Some kind of helmet mount is all I can think of. Maybe someone can give me a suggestion. I have a Sony Z1 and an A1U. I’d like to be able to use the A1U if possible.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jerry, any chance you’ll be at NAB? I have a one hour session on this very subject on Monday a.m. and a 3 hour session on Monday evening on this subject.
Plan on using the A1U. There are some challenges, but they’re fairly easy to overcome. Damping is critical when you’re working with an OIS camera like the Z1, and even then it’s hard. The A1 is a terrific sports POV or master cam.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Thanks, Douglas, but I’m not planning on the NAB this year. I have a friend going. Maybe I’ll ask him to attend. I’d like to hear the best ways to dampen.

Start with quarter-inch neoprene and then a beanbag.
