Need laptop advice for Premiere Pro
Hi guys,
I’m a Final Cutter who is finally moving to Premiere after the great Final Cut abandonment. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 laptops good enough to run Premiere and some lightweight stuff in After Effects.
The Dell XPS XPS15
and the Asus G55VW
I’ve chosen these 2 because they are both in my price range, around £1000 or whatever the dollar equivalent is and they both seem to have the right hardware, graphics card that sorta thing. So whilst I want a fully speced Lenovo or HP, I can’t afford one but appreciate they will be better for the job.
Also whilst I appreciate a brand new shiny Macbook with retina display will be just awesome with Premiere, again I can’t afford it so, there’s no point in telling me about those :-).
So comments about the above 2 laptops please, or maybe you know something better/as good, that I should be looking at.
I haven’t bought a computer since 2006 so I guess I need to know things like touchscreen or no touchscreen? Windows 7 or 8? Solid State or not? That kind of thing.
Many thanks in advance.
