Need help with Red 3.0.4 update
My mac is not connected to the internet. I downloaded the 3.0.4 to disc and inserted into cd drive on my G5. When I click on the updater app it states that “There is no default application to open the document “RED3_3.0.4_Updater.app.sit”. There is a Choose Application button available. If I choose Boris Red 3.0, only Documentation is availble from there. If I choose Documentation, there is nothing available. Please help with this installation if possible.

you need to go and download stuffit expander and install that onto your mac. Files that end in .sit are compressed folders, much like .zip files for pc.

Will it install on it’s own after being unzipped, or is there a particular place I need to put it. I know it is tempting to poke fun here but I need to get Brois up and running for a coorporate job I am working on.

Once you unzip it, simply double-clicking the updater will walk you through the installation process. It doesn’t matter where the installer is.
