Need Help with Mask Edges
I’m recreating Rorschach’s mask from Watchmen, and I can’t figure out how to make the moving inkblots on the mask look like they’re on fabric.
I want the inkblot edges to have a mesh look; like fabric threads. So instead of just being feathered, there’s a texture too. Please help. -

that’s easy, AE CS4 has fractal presets called fabric, simply animate them

Hmm, I’m using CS3. But thanks.
I tried using fractal noise, but it’s too consistent. I want most of the mask to be solid black until the edges. I guess similar to the way the ‘dissolve’ blending mode looks. -
How about trying “Roughen Edges” — there are quite a few options within that plugin…
