PLease help if you can…I have done several things in motion and now in after effects. when I brong it into FCP the file does not have crisp video playback. What is going on? The qaulity is even better when I bring those files into iMovieHD. Amazing that after spending money on FCP iMovie is giving better results. Please help ASAP, very important project that I need a crisp video. Thank you in advance with your help!

What was the render that you used out of AE?

In FCP, is there a color line above the clip? Try Option-R with the timeline selected. See if that doesn’t clear it up.

Again, though… what render did you use? I don’t have any problems with AE to FCP…

In other words.. What you see on playback, is not an indication of the quality of the video. The timeline playback is only a way for you too see realtime video. Once you export, you’ll get top quality.

1 – Render in the exact codec and frame size as Final Cut Pro.

2 – If you are looking at your computer Canvas screen and NOT an external NTSC or PAL monitor (depending on where you live) you are not looking at full resolution video. FCP’s Viewer and Canvas quality are not full resolution. You ONLY get full resolution from FCP on the video output to an external monitor.

What settings do you use in AE to render?
