Im editing a wedding video and any clips that have any real movement(panning across the congregation, walking down the aisle, etc..) the motion seems really jerky. It doesnt seem to have any motion blur at all. Any tips on how to correct this? I appreciate and welcome all comments. Thanks

What framerate are you getting for preview? It says on the bottom right of the preview windows as you playback.

What file format are you viewing?

How does the footage look straight out of the camera?

its evident in the editing but I also did a test render and output to dvd. its the same. The footage from the cam looks great. i had the preview set to draft. What do you think?

    Jason,
IF you have certain other things running like antivirus it MAY affect the playback. Turn off anti virus to see how that works. Also have you put any thing onto the clip such as slow motion, color correction or any other type of effect. Effects MAY slow down the p;ayback and give a jerky motion. I did see where you said the test MPEG and DVD were the same so as much as I hate to say it you might want to recapture the footage (a portion of it where you have the jerky motion anyway) just to see if it was in the capture.
Just throwing ideas out right now to see if anything helps.

Thnks for the reply don. Unfortunately, I cant recapture the footage(wedding). I just didnt know if there was some “motion blur switch” that I was missing or some other really simple fix. I guess Im stuck with hard to watch footage. Thanks for your help tho guys.

Could it possibly be a field order problem?

That might be the case. If Im doing a 24p widescreen output, how should I set the field order?

You could try a couple of things:

    1) Open Pan/Crop and move it up or down ONE scanline

    2) Right-click the event and change it from lower to upper

In both cases, do a small check to see if it helped. I would not try to do BOTH of the above at the same time.
