    Hi everyone,

Currently I have another few problems that unable to solve. Hope anyone who knows these could advise. Would appreciate very much if the problems could be solved.

    1) I tried to import a GIF animation file into AE composition with clear background however the background of the file still appears/visible.

Could you advise on this why does it so and what’s the solution of it if to obtain the GIF image without the background?

    2) When I create a solid (white/black) bar in composition, during the movement from up to down or left to right, there is some boxes appear at the border of the bar. These boxes are like something that shown not clear or blurred. They are like in a movie, when there is censored part and the boxes appear to cover that part of the screen. It looks like the original size of the object is very small and I resize it to a larger object so causes it becomes blurred.

Unfortunately this happens not only during the movement of the bar but when it stops at a position and still, the border of the bar is again blinking with the boxes.

I do hope that anyone of you could advise me on the above issues.

Thank you very much for any advice!

Your GIF must have an alpha channel or support an alpha. Simply being “clear” doesn’t make it transparent within your composition. In order to modify the GIF, you need only modify it in Image Ready.

As for the “censored” edge, this is pretty common along high-contrast images when your video output is compressed to a block-style format such as DV or MPEG. To remedy, reduce the depth of contrast and use a different compressor. You can render it to an uncompressed file first and then recompress in an exterior solution and get more reliable results, but as a rule AE should not be your compression tool.

    Hi Michael,

I found that if to modify GIF in Image Ready, I can only save it as PSD file and there will be no more animation like in GIF in the new PSD file. Am I right and is this supposed to be?

What I need is he animation of GIF maintains but without the background of the GIF file.

Hope you can advise on this.

    Thanks and regards,
    Kim
