    Hi,
I’m wondering if there’s any way to import PowerPoint documents into Vegas 6.0. I don’t have PowerPoint on my computer; rather I have a presentation that someone wants me to incorporate. Do I need to buy PowerPoint to be able to do this, or is there a way around it? And is it possible to lift finished PowerPoint slides and bring them directly into my project media/timeline?
    Thanks for any advice.

I don’t know the answer to your question but I can offer this: If you decide to get PowerPoint, it has a “Save” function, just like any other program. When you have a PPT presentaton active and select File>Save, it will ask you if you want to save just one slide or the entire set. And it will also give you the option of saving them in other formats, e.g. jpegs. You can select such a file that will allow you to import to Vegas. Beware: some PPT slides import very nicely to video but some, because of tiny text or thin horizontal lines or violation of NTSC colors or title safe, etc. might require you to take your exported files into Photoshop to “adjust” them.

    Good luck.

Since you don’t have PowerPoint, do you have the PowerPoint player? If yes, just run Camtasia and capture the screen as it plays.

JeditDV; What is Camtasia? What does it do and where is it available? Would it work with Vegas 4. Thanks.

Camtasia is a screen recorder by TechSmith. https://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp

It will capture whatever is happening on the screen. That’s how many computer tutorials are created. The files created by Camtasia can then be loaded into your NLE.
