Hello, and sorry for the cross post from FCP basic but I can’t move forward on my project until I find an answer to this.

I am just confuing myself the more I try to answer this question by myself so I’m asking here to resolve it.

    I’m shooting a show in DVCPro50 16:9 30fps with Panasonic SDX900’s.

I have been just opening up projects with the easy setup for DVPRO50 48k Anamorphic. Its fine other than when I output to a quicktime reference movie its always 4:3.

When I dig into the settings for the time line or capture presets and chose the advanced button under the DVCPRO50 compression selection, I see that it is set for 4:3 interlaced and its set for 29.97fps.

My end result is a DVD, a QT reference ovie and a flash video.

So I started playing around with creating a custom easy setup I chose DVCPro50 Anamorphic, I checked inside the advanced options for the sequence presets and the capture presets — 16:9, progressive(scan mode) and 30fps.

This seems to look fine when I dig but the audio is ahead of the video track by 9 seconds…I have check the playback from the deck alon and it is not recorded with a delay. I am capturing via firewire.

I don’t know if these are the correct settings or not for my starting footage and ending needs.

One other side not is that in the SDX900 cameras even if I chose to capture in 30p there is still a submenu option for interlaced or progressive and the rental houses all say leave it in interlaced. So I have been. And they assured me that I am capturing 30fps progressive.

Can the COW help me out please!?!?!?!

    Thanks,

    Chris
