Im working in after effects CS4 on a PC. Everything works fine until im working in a text layer and I try to change the font. Many of the fonts (not all), once clicked on cause this error.

After Effects failed to parse transmap file

    the second error reads

After Effects Warning: Unknown BIB Error. invalid encoding, BRV, O

When I press OK, the same error keeps popping up and I am forced to CTRL, ALT, DELETE to end program.

I hope there is somebody out there who can help me.
    Thanks!

rebooting can often solve unexplainable behavior in ae.

you might also check to see if other software can use your problem fonts, just to rule out a font specific issue.

No new fonts that I know of. Ive installed Cycore FX effects pack and Twitch from Video Co piolot but I don’t think any of those include fonts.

I also have AE CS3 installed and it also has the same problem/errors with the fonts.

    Thanks.

Im working in after effects Pro 7.0 on a PC. Everything works fine until im working in a text layer and I try to change the font. Many of the fonts (not all), once clicked on cause this error.

And now every time I try to start AE7.0 appears the messages:

can’t get the unicode file and failed to parse transmap file

When I press OK, the same error keeps popping up and I am forced to CTRL, ALT, DELETE to end program.

I hope there is somebody out there who can help me.
    Thanks!

Hi. I’m from Brazil and my english is not so good, so i hope you can understanding me.

I have the same problem with AE 7, try all the others guys said to do and nothing works. Then I remember one thing: UNICODE is a therminology for fonts, and I had download some fonts one or two days before and when delete this fonts the problem just gone with their.
So what I recomend you to do is:

Go to windows Fonts folder and delete the fonts that have the name follwed by UNICODE Trade Mark and the others in red collor named.

    That works in my case
