Hello you wonderful ppl,
I imported quite a big project from AE cc 2017 from mac to windows. Both high quality editing machines.
This particular imported project causes After Effects to close after a few minutes when using it on the PC. When this happens there is no error message or record of after effects crashing when I re-open.
The project recognises there are a few fonts missing and a few missing pieces of footage too but beyond that I’m stumped.
I’ve tried the same project on an additional windows pc running AE cc 2017 and it didn’t crash, nor does the project crash on my mac. Any thoughts would be massively appreciated.

Soup to nuts when you say crash.
Can you export one Composition at a time via Collect?
What kind of resource files?
So much to list.

Collect means to gather all your footage (or resource files) and make a copy, so that you have on folder you can easily share. Its an option in After Effects.
Are you trying to open the file or importing it into an existing project? If the latter maybe you should open the file and convert it first.
Since its converting from an older version, did you save the new converted project file?
I would try installing older versions of AE via the CC app and try that.

I’m trying to take the project from mac and open it on a PC.
I’ve managed this on one PC, a desktop, but my laptop keeps crashing with only that project.
I think both versions of AE are the same so installing older versions wouldn’t help
Don’t think collecting the files will help because it’s the same project, you’re just making a copy of it, right? It’s something within the project itself that the laptop doesn’t like.
