    Hi,

I exported a video file at 25fps at 1920×1080 using Adobe Premiere. The file size ended at 1.05GB. I’m attempting to upload it to Vimeo but they only accept videos 500Mb and smaller.

Does anyone know of a free software that will compress the files bit rate but not sacrifice quality? Thanks!!

bitrate times duration equals file size.

Nothing personal but after seeing posts like this every other day I have to wonder if anybody in this business got through high school math.

The most efficient H.264 encoders use x264. Handbrake uses it and it’s free. Otherwise Telestream Episode and Sorenson Squeeze also use x264. The math remains the same though.

Jeremy, you can only upload 1280×720 if you have a free account with a 500MB limit. Even if you could upload 1080p, go with 720p if bitrate is an issue. Vimeo recommends 5-10 Mbps for 720p. How long is your video?

There’s no need for condescension. I utilized this forum for a quick answer, rather than Google searching for hours. I just downloaded handbrake, if it solves my problem, thank you.
