Need Google Search Advice re: Finding Leads
I am slow this week and consider myself quite advanced as to LinkedIn’s Advanced Search function for finding execs with certain job titles near me. I am now running into the same profiles over and over so I decided today to try my hand at Google Search, which I am fairly adapt at, but something negative is occurring that was not occurring the last time I used Google:
WHEN I ENTER A JOB TITLE GOOGLE ASSUMES I AM LOOKING FOR A JOB!
Bummer. Page after page of Indeed and Monster career opportunity results. Does anyone know of a trick to make Google realize I am not a job seeker? Is there any code I can put in the search box that will filter out these employment companies? Such as “Evanston IL Marketing Communications Manager- No Jobs”
I’m too frugal to sign up for the services like Lead Ferret, etc. and in the past found these companies’ data stale.
Any insights?

Sounds like a Boolean search term might help you

try title zip code -jobs -employment
i.e. marketing director 17011 -jobs -employment
will get you closethe minus sign will exclude results of the following word

Thanks guys, this seems to help. It is bring up services however, rather than executives with that title. For example, searching a title, then zip code, then minus jobs and employment, what comes up are services and companies that do that term phrase.
If I put in marketing communications then what comes up are small consultants, agencies, etc. rather than the execs within companies.

Oh well, you can only do Google for so long before you run out of new leads, so I will bite the bullet and re-up to LinkedIn’s Pro level membership for $50 a month, and when I get busy then I’ll cancel.
