I have been looking for a dvd/bluray authoring software for some time to replace Encore.

I’d like to find something that is supported and reliable. I am on a 2019 mac book and Catalina,

however I’ll consider go pc. I have looked for DVD architect and it seems it is no longer sold.

Roxio Toast 19 is reported to be unreliable. I tried Cisdom and it didn’t work very well.

I have been booting to yosemite and encore which worked well for DVDs. The new 2019 64 bit

macs won’t run on anything but Catalina or big sur. Offering blu-ray would give my client HD.

My only other option is deliver on thumb drives, but they have limitations on tvs.

The industry dropped DVDs & Blu ray and didn’t leave us anywhere to go except online delivery, which is costly subscription based.

    Anything working for you ?

I would suggest you to start from the opposite side – WHAT does your client need? For the last 10 years I created DVDs using Edius, with 2-6 buttons as chapters. And it was more than enough for my clients (BD option is available there also). 20 years ago I used Sonic Scenarist and created disks with huge sets of menus, features, languages…. Today nobody needs it. For PC (or just Windows runing on your Mac) you can find A LOT OF software, even some free, and create DVD/BD, but once again – what for….?

Well, my client is a ballet dance studio and I record their recitals 3 times a year.

They really need , to give up dvds and let me deliver mp4 HD or Blurays. I presented to them last year, delivery of mp4 on a thumb drive but they did not think it looked worth the price.

I currently provide DVD’s with a simple custom menu with their logo image and a play button with chapter markers for each of the 40 plus scenes. If I could at least go to blu-ray would give them HD. but its difficult to find reliable burning software.

Aiseesoft DVD Creator is good for DVD but the menu buttons can’t be moved around.

I still use Adobe Encore by rebooting to yosemite on my wife’s Mac Book. It is not as stable as it used to be now that its upgraded to Catalina.

It doesn’t appear that Edius or scenarist are currently supported.
