  • Need decoder for importing Premiere Pro into Encore

I use Premiere Pro 2.0 and Encore 2.0, when I try to import a Premiere Pro movie into Encore to make a DVD I get the error message:”The Software that’s used to decode the media is not available on this system installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem”

How do I get the decoders to work with this?

What Codec are you using to export from Premiere ?

The only real options, if you want a “quality” DVD, is exporting uncompressed, or Mpeg2-DVD using Premiere Media Encoder.
Mpeg2 is the most efficient way, since it will only require one render. The video size also needs to 720×480/486 for NTSC.

Does this mean I’ll have to use the Encoder in Premiere 1st, then output as an MPEG-2 then import the MPEG-2 file into Encore for this to work?

    This is the normal workflow.

Or export as DV AVI and use that file in Encore.
