Need Batch Render Script that includes the name V10
Posted by Craig Scime on March 16, 2011 at 11:59 pmI had the script that Edward made for vegas 7, then tried to edit the current vegas 10 script but can’t save as a cs file and vegas won’t recognize the edited script….so I am wondering if any one has the script for vegas 10 that will batch render with the region name thanks craig

A quick search here at te COW would have uncovered this thread:

March 17, 2011 at 8:36 pmHi John, I did do a quick search and found that post and tried (I searched on google, sony and vasst too)…and as I think I mentioned that windows 7 won’t allow me to edit the CS file in notepad. Once I make the changes from the post and save it…vegas doesn’t recognized in the script menu…hence my post out of frustration…I even have production assistant, thought that might help too…but it didn’t.
I don’t understand why sony makes a batch render script that doesn’t include the region names. How do they think you would be able to organize your files?????

Sorry, I didn’t catch that. Under My Documents make a folder called “Vegas Script Menu”. Then copy the batch render script into this folder and change it’s name. Then edit with notepad and have Vegas refresh the scripts and it should show up.
The problem is that Windows 7/Vista uses a new security model that doesn’t allow users to edit files in the “\Program Files” folder any more and this is where Sony keeps their scripts. Using the My Documents folder solves this.

May 12, 2013 at 9:37 pmI did all of the above, and no matter which script I use — the original Batch Render or my new Batch Render Region Name — I get the following error. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?

May 13, 2013 at 11:59 amIt looks like your code threw an exception and you didn’t catch it.
Why don’t you use a proven render script like VASST Render Assistant? For $9.95 you don’t have to debug it and if it doesn’t work you get to have me fix it. 😉
