Need assistance and advice finding Windows machine for AVID
We are moving to AVID from Final Cut. The qualified computer list on AVID’s site is over a year old. I don’t think it will be hard to build or spec out a machine that has the power to edit video, but I’m guessing there are some compatibility issues to be aware of. What are the key issues with AVID compatible machines? Is it the graphics card or pure processing power? Any advice will be very helpful.
FYI, for this machine we would like to stay around $1,000 as it will primarily be used on site for fairly simple projects. Given the amount of use it will get, we can deal with some rendering waits provided the machine can play back video well.

It contains a list of all supported MC7 configurations, and you should be able to pick your system based on $$$ from there.
