Need a guy jumping out of a window.
Ok so I’m working on this script for one of my classes and there is a scene in it that involves a man jumping out of a 10 story window. Now there are two options I can see doing it. The first involves me shooting the guy running and jumping about 5 feet short of the window, and then roto’ing him out and moving him towards the window on a clean plate. The other option is that I have access to a green screen studio. While this would be probably easier, I’m afraid it won’t match up both in the angle and lighting conditions in both places are less than ideal. Any suggestions. Thanks,

So this shot is from the inside and we see him jumping away from camera out the window?
If that is correct, do you need an exterior of the fall? I used to do stunts and still work with a bunch of stunt guys. This is the kind of stuff we love to figure out.

I’m not so worried about the exterior as I am about the interior. For the exterior shot its going to be from the ground looking up, and its a 20 story building so you’ll be able to see him just enough.
Im worried about right now, is the interior, which for this piece is the “money shot”. The window he is jumping out of is a floor to ceiling window which is nice because anyway I shoot it, he’ll be able to act like he’s jumping out of the window withouth worrying about trying to do it a certain way that will fit.
Its really hard to explain in writing so maybe I’ll just upload some storyboards so you get what I’m trying to do. Thanks,

Sounds good. I’ll look for them. I take it the building you are using won’t or can’t remove the glass for a real jump?
If they could, do a real jump from the first or second floor and fly a green screen outside. Comp in fake glass shattering and shoot your view (background plate) out the window from the 10th floor.
I’ll look for the boards. Then I can be of more help!
