You could use some different color volumetric omni lights to be stars in the nebula, then in the light’s options in the Noise section, change Noise to Both. Then, go to the Visibility section and increase the % of dust. Try maybe 30% to start and adjust from there. Also, adding Lens Effects may help the lights look more star-like.

This may not be a perfect solution, but will definitely help add to the nebula look.

I think that Pyrocluser is your best bet for realism. As far as Thinking Particles … another option would be to use the MoGraph Matrix Object along with effectors. Mograph can be easier to control, and the Matrix Object can output TP particles that can be used with Pyrocluster.

I’ve got it up to a point. Any tips on using PFreeze to stop new TP from being created?

I’m trying to follow this Xpresso setup https://www.kxcad.net/CINEMA_4D/help/US/html/OP_FREEZE-ID_GVPORTS.html

Here’s my variation, which seems to freeze the TPs’ position but not their birth and deaths:

(sorry about the spidery xpresso …)

I just realized that why I couldn’t stop particle births, it had to do with another piece of xpresso (not in the pic). Thanks

And yet I’m still missing something… really all I’m trying to do is create a nice looking nebula cloud, and then freeze it, so I can pan around or fly through it.
