I am using Neat Video 2.6 x64 on Vegas 10 x68 on Windows 7 x64. I can use Neat Video just fine. It processes my video in the timeline preview and everything. But when I render it simply doesn’t apply the Neat filter. It still applies other effects like brightness/cont and HSL. This is the case even if I:
    -Render only a small region.
    -Choose a different video encoding.
    -Restart the program/computer.
-Set the project to 32bit floating point.
-Set the project to render “Best” both in the project window and the render encoder window.
-Verify that FX Bypass if off.
    -Render as image sequence.
-And check to verify that the filter is still applied after doing all this.

The filter DOES apply if I just save a single screenshot. This is very annoying. Is there anything I can do here? I can’t think of what would cause this.

    Thanks.

Uninstall Neat video, Restart your PC and then reinstall it.
Then lets know if that fixes it.

Is it the newest Vegas 10.0e 64bit version?

No I’m on c. It will take me some time to update with this connection so in the meantime any other suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise I’ll let you know when I know.

    Nick,

Did you ever find a solution to this?

I am having the same issues only I am evaluating the demo version of Neat Video. I am applying it to SD video less than 30 minutes. Just like you, I can see the improvements to the video in the preview window and they look good. But after I render, it doesn’t look any better. It’s grainy.

Yes I believe it worked after I turned off GPU rendering or something like that. In the Vegas settings. If you’re still having trouble I can look at it again to verify what I did.

    Nick,

Appreciate the quick response. I don’t use my GPU (GTX570) to render in Sony Vegas as my benchmark testing showed it didn’t have much of an effect on render times. So i had it turned off already. Although I believe it’s enabled in Neat Video.

I screwed around with Neat Video a little more last night. I spent some time building a profile but I can’t seem to get any good areas for green boxes during the noise selection. The best I get are the yellow thick boxes. I am editing interlaced video so with the split frame to work with it’s hard to get enough area to select noise.

So my renders don’t show a whole lot of difference even though I have played around with all the filter settings and such. What is your workflow? Do you apply color correction and things like that prior to applying Neat Video? Ideally, once you build and save a profile do you essentially apply it to other footage from the same camera under the same settings so you don’t have to build a noise profile for each and every video clip?

    Rob
