I’ve heard good things about Neat, but last month I bought Video Purifier from Bitvice, it is incredible. A bit hard to fine tune, but I’m sure with the learning curve it will get easier.

    Have a wonderful day.

I have not used it myself, but have seen very good results posted on other video boards. Seems like it is very easy to use, but may take a lot of rendering time.

Neat Video just released a version for FCP yesterday. They have a free demo version, which I will try out shortly.

Been using it for over two years now and still can’t find anything better at reducing the noise over detail ratio. You’ll have to spend a little more time learning how to use it though. Unlike typical blur type filters, it works by getting a sample of plain noise and “subtracts” this noise pattern on your video. You have to look for a sufficiently large blank area in your video that contains no detail and just plain noise and use this to “program” the noise reduction. The bigger the area the better. An ideal sample would be a close-up video of a grey colored card held by your subject. I now make it a habit to always look for a plain area within the scene such as a blank wall and shoot a a few seconds of it as my noise sample.
